It was played on October 17 and 18, 2026. This page keeps how it was organized; for results and news, see the event page on Raider.IO and the official tournament Discord.
Not run by Blizzard
It is run by content creators Tips Out, Esfand and Xaryu, with Starforge Systems and RestedXP as partners, and sign-ups and check-in happen on Raider.IO. Blizzard neither runs nor backs it: the organizers themselves point out that dueling is not an officially supported Blizzard esport. The rules may change, and the event page on Raider.IO always has the final word.

Who can take part
It was open to anyone with access to the WoW Forever beta; sign-ups closed on October 2 at 10:00 AM PT (7:00 PM in Spain). According to the organizers, there were two ways to get that access:
- Opt in to the beta on the official WoW Forever site. It is free, but an invitation is not guaranteed.
- Pre-purchase the Skyborne Epic Pack or the Warcraft Forever Collection, which do include the beta. Prices and contents in the price guide.
Character requirements
- Brand new: created on or after September 27 at 11:00 AM PT (8:00 PM in Spain). Older characters are not eligible.
- Horde, on the beta's PvP ruleset.
- With Foreverpvp as the surname. Names have two parts in Forever, and this second name is required.
- Signed up on Raider.IO and in the <The Forever Open> guild.
- Level 30 before check-in, with 15 gold for the tournament entry fee.
- You compete with one character only: the one you pick at check-in. It cannot be changed afterwards.
The beta already lets you reach level 30 (roadmap). Zones, dungeons and talents from 20 to 30 are in the level 30 guide.
On the PvP ruleset you can only create characters of one faction (servers guide), so for this tournament it has to be the Horde.
Since it is Horde only, every paladin in the tournament will be Undead: it is the only Horde race that can be a paladin in Forever, one of the game's new combinations.
How to sign up, step by step
Sign-ups are closed (they closed on October 2 at 10:00 AM PT (7:00 PM in Spain)). These were the steps the organizers set out:
- Get beta access (see the previous section).
- From September 27 at 11:00 AM PT (8:00 PM in Spain), create a Horde character on the PvP ruleset with the surname Foreverpvp.
- Sign it up on the Raider.IO sign-up page before October 2 at 10:00 AM PT (7:00 PM in Spain).
- Join the official tournament Discord and ask for an invite to the <The Forever Open> guild: whisper an online admin in game, or post your character's full name in the Discord's guild invite channel.
- Level the character to 30 and get it ready for duels (where to level from 20 to 30 is in the level 30 guide).
- On October 17, before the qualifiers start (October 17 at 10:00 AM PT (7:00 PM in Spain)), check in on Raider.IO. Taking part costs a 15 gold entry fee; the organizers will explain how to pay it on their Discord.
- When asked, send the talent specialization you will use (at least 24 hours before each stage) and have your stream ready.
If you run into trouble signing up, ask in the official tournament Discord: there is a Raider.IO role for those questions.
Tournament format
Leveling (September 27 to October 17). Each player levels a brand-new character to 30 and prepares it as well as they can.
Qualifiers (October 17). Players who signed up, checked in, reached level 30 and paid the entry fee compete. The winners go through to the finals.
Finals (October 18). The published rules say the top four of each class go through and the matches are best-of-five duel series. The winner takes the title of Death's Duelist and the biggest share of the prize pool.
The organizers will settle the format and rules of both stages closer to the event, at least a week before the qualifiers, and will announce them in their official Discord.
Main rules
A summary of the key points of the rules. It does not replace the full text on Raider.IO, which the organizers may change at any time.
- Conduct. Respect for opponents, staff and viewers, in chat and on stream too. Harassment, threats and hate speech mean expulsion.
- Referee. A referee watches the duels and rules on violations; their decisions must be followed.
- Inspections. On stream you may be asked to open your bags, talents and character panel to show everything is legal.
- Talents. You may have to submit your specialization 24 hours before each stage. You use one build per stage, and it cannot change once the stage starts.
- Streaming required. In the qualifiers and finals you must stream your point of view on Twitch, YouTube or Kick and keep the video for review.
- Banned items. Magic Dust, protection potions (fire, nature, frost, arcane, holy and shadow) and holiday event buffs and consumables. The list may change each round.
- Buffs from other players. Only those lasting 2 minutes or more are allowed.
- Stay at the dueling area. Not even a hearthstone trip to repair. If you disconnect, you have 3 minutes in total; warlocks may leave once for shards, after telling an admin.
- Legacy points. They are allowed (try the Legacy calculator).
- Starting a duel. No mounts and 20 yards apart; the admins give a 10-second countdown before you accept.
- No stalling or fleeing. Dragging a duel out on purpose is penalized (60 seconds of inactivity already counts) and fleeing the duel area means disqualification.
- Cheating. Account sharing, match fixing, stream sniping, interference or exploiting bugs mean disqualification and losing any prize.
Prizes
The pool started at $50,000 and doubled to $100,000 when creator TimTheTatman added another $50,000. The updated split:
| Placement | Prize |
|---|---|
| Tournament champion | $50,000 |
| $5,555 | |
| $5,555 | |
| $5,555 | |
| $5,555 | |
| $5,555 | |
| $5,555 | |
| $5,555 | |
| $5,555 | |
| $5,555 |
- If the top spot of a class is tied, that prize is split evenly.
- Prizes are paid by the tournament admins, not Raider.IO, and winners must send them an invoice before payment.
- The rules section of the event still shows the old $50,000 split; the prizes section is the one that counts.
Where to watch
Esfand and Xaryu will carry the main broadcast of both days on their Twitch channels. Any creator can co-stream it on their own channel as long as they follow Blizzard's and their platform's terms and the tournament rules. Since every player streams their own matches, you can also follow specific players on their channels.
For Spanish-speaking viewers: ElXokas will play a Rogue, according to Movistar eSports. Since every player has to stream their own matches, you can follow him on his channel.
Blizzard's warning about gold
In the official forum thread about this tournament, community manager Kaivax reminded players that buying or selling gold for real money is not allowed in World of Warcraft, including the Forever beta. Blizzard bans sellers and will increasingly act against buyers too: it can remove the gold and even close accounts. He also asked players to be wary of gold gifts from strangers. With a 15 gold entry fee and lots of fresh characters, it is worth keeping in mind.
