Whether an attunement is needed is unknown. The client does have an access item for part of the raid: the Brooch of the Wardens, which "grants access to the Vord'anaar Prison within Barrow Deeps". How to get it has not been published.5

Blizzard announced that Hyjal Summit and the Barrow Deeps bring raid encounters and new tier sets.2

A legendary reward

Hyjal Summit and the Barrow Deeps come with a legendary reward that Blizzard has not fully revealed yet. The roadmap also places a new legendary questline in spring 2027.21

Legacy points

Raids grant 3 Legacy points: one for defeating Onyxia, one for defeating all 13 Hyjal Summit bosses and one for all 8 Barrow Deeps bosses.35

Epic raid appearances

The appearance of an epic raid item only unlocks for the player who gets the item (when it binds), not for the whole raid.4

Raiding by ruleset

You can only raid with players of your own faction who chose the same ruleset (Normal, PvP, Roleplaying or Hardcore).4
