No leveling route
Gathering skill goes up by gathering, not by crafting. Below is what the client defines for this skill: node thresholds, when it has any, and the recipes that are crafted with it.
Node skill thresholds
Skill levels required by the node locks in the client (Lock table, type Fishing). The client does not include node names, so only the thresholds and how many locks use them are listed.
