Retribution Paladin

Retribution is one of the three Paladin talent trees in WoW Forever. Its tree has 17 talents: 6 new, 6 changed, 4 moved and 1 same as in Classic. Forever removes 4 Classic talents from this tree. Our best-in-slot (BiS) list treats it as a DPS spec.

Class-wide changes

They affect every Paladin, whatever tree they play:

New talents

  • Holy Conduit

Reduces the mana cost of your Consecration, Holy Wrath, Exorcism, and Hammer of Wrath spells by 40%.

  • Sanctified Judgement

Gives your Judgement ability a 100% chance to return 60% of the Mana cost of the judged seal.

  • Sacred Arbiter

Increases the damage of your Holy Strike ability by 20% and causes it to refresh all Judgement effects on the target.

  • Champion of the Light

Increases your spell damage by up to 60% of your Intellect.

  • Instrument of Law

Reduces the cast time of your Hammer of Wrath by 1.0 sec, and reduces all threat you generate by 20% while Righteous Fury is not active.

  • Twist of Light

Reduces the Mana cost of your Seal spells by 20%, and when you replace your Seal of Command, Seal of Righteousness, Seal of Fury, or Seal of Justice with a different Seal, you gain an Echo of that Seal. Your next melee attack applies the replaced Seal's effects, consuming the Echo.

The 8 abilities the beta spellbook groups under Retribution, by the level they are learned at. Each one opens its own page with its ranks, cost and changes.

Retribution best-in-slot (BiS) gear

The site’s suggestion, not an official list: we score the beta items with our stat weights for each level. The beta is capped at level 30.

Top picks at level 60

The two highest-scoring pieces in three slots. It is a forecast: until the beta reaches 60, items and their sources may change.

Why these weights

Two-handed damage: Seal of the Crusader and Seal of Command benefit from very slow weapons (Command procs 7 times per minute and deals weapon damage), so speed weighs even more than for Arms. Strength and AP like any melee; a pinch of intellect and spell power since judgements and the seal itself scale with holy damage and cost mana.

Races that can be a Paladin

The races that can pick the class in WoW Forever. The ones marked new are combinations Classic did not have.
