What changes in Forever

What is new and changed for Balance compared with Classic Era: our change list, its talent tree and its abilities.

In our change list

SCHANGEDSpell

Wrath

· General
Classic
Classic mana cost and damage.
Forever
Redesigned: costs much less mana and deals significantly less damage than in Classic (Blizzard class deep dive, September 30). The ~50% base damage increase in the September 24 notes is relative to the previous beta build, not to Classic.
SCHANGEDSpell

Thorns

· General
Classic
Damage is fixed when cast.
Forever
Dynamically updates based on the caster's spell power.
SCHANGEDSpell

Faerie Fire

· Balance
Forever
Castable while shapeshifted at no resource cost, though it gains a cooldown, and it no longer resets your swing timer when used.
Auto-updated from official notes on October 1, 2026Official note ↗
SCHANGEDSpell

Nature’s Grasp

· Balance
Forever
Now baseline for the whole class, learned at level 10. Also castable while shapeshifted and indoors.
Auto-updated from official notes on September 30, 2026Official note ↗
SCHANGEDSpell

Omen of Clarity

· Balance
Forever
Now baseline for the whole class, learned at level 20. The Clearcasting effect is never consumed by Wrath.
Auto-updated from official notes on September 30, 2026Official note ↗
TCHANGEDTalent

Improved Wrath

· Balance
Forever
Now also reduces the Mana cost of Wrath.
Auto-updated from official notes on September 30, 2026Official note ↗
TNEWTalent

Genesis

· Balance
Forever
New talent in row 1: increases all periodic damage and healing done by the Druid's spells and abilities.
Auto-updated from official notes on September 30, 2026Official note ↗
TCHANGEDTalent

Moonglow

· Balance
Forever
Moved from row 5 up to row 2. Now reduces the Mana cost of all damaging spells but no longer modifies healing spells.
Auto-updated from official notes on September 30, 2026Official note ↗
TCHANGEDTalent

Improved Moonfire

· Balance
Forever
Now costs only 2 talent points instead of 5 for the same effect.
Auto-updated from official notes on September 30, 2026Official note ↗
TCHANGEDTalent

Improved Entangling Roots

· Balance
Forever
Moved from row 2 down to row 3 and redesigned: instead of preventing interruption, it now increases the damage done significantly and reduces the chance for other damage to break the effect early.
Auto-updated from official notes on September 30, 2026Official note ↗
TNEWTalent

Insect Swarm

· Balance
Forever
New 16-point gold medal talent. Grants a new spell that deals Nature damage over 12 seconds and reduces the target's chance to hit.
Auto-updated from official notes on September 30, 2026Official note ↗
TNEWTalent

Overgrowth

· Balance
Forever
New talent in row 5: allows the Druid to have up to 3 targets affected by Entangling Roots at once.
Auto-updated from official notes on September 30, 2026Official note ↗
TNEWTalent

Eclipse

· Balance
Forever
New talent in row 5: casting Wrath reduces the cast time of your next 2 Starfire casts, stacking up to 4 charges.
Auto-updated from official notes on September 30, 2026Official note ↗
TCHANGEDTalent

Moonfury

· Balance
Forever
Now applies to all your damaging spells.
Auto-updated from official notes on September 30, 2026Official note ↗
TCHANGEDTalent

Moonkin Form

· Balance
Forever
The party-wide critical strike chance now applies to all spells and attacks, not just spells, and is exclusive with the same effect from Leader of the Pack. All non-healing spells can now be cast in the form, and while it is active Omen of Clarity has double the chance to trigger.
Auto-updated from official notes on September 30, 2026Official note ↗

Balance best-in-slot (BiS) gear

The site’s suggestion, not an official list: we score the beta items with our stat weights for each level. The beta is capped at level 30.

Top picks at level 60

The two highest-scoring pieces in three slots. It is a forecast: until the beta reaches 60, items and their sources may change.

Why these weights

Balance casts Wrath and Starfire: spell power first (specific arcane and nature are worth less since each only covers half the rotation), then intellect, which also gives crit. Mana is the tree's big problem, hence the weight on mana per 5 s and spirit. No ranged slot: idols are not scored.

Races that can be a Druid

The races that can pick the class in WoW Forever. The ones marked new are combinations Classic did not have.
